Inscriptions/Signature

Brown wood flute in five parts.

2011.0467.a: Mouthpiece segment. Ivory cap at end has a small projection at center and a metal ring adjacent to cap. Silver metal ring at distal end and a metal "male" element for insertion into part b.

2011.0467.b: Short segment with a slight expansion at distal end. "Male" element at proximal end for insertion into part a. Ivory ring at distal end.


2011.0467.c: Cylindrical segment with "male" element at either end, wrapped with black string, for insertion into parts b and d. Three fingerholes. Two metal keys.

2011.0467.d: Short segment with an ivory band and wooden ridge at the proximal end and a "male" element at distal end, wrapped with black string for insertion into part e. Three fingerholes and one key.

2011.0647.e: Short segment with an ivory band at proximal end, adjacent to an enlargement in the flute and a metal key. Ivory band at distal end.
