Description

View down a narrow street lined with old, brick and stone buildings with shuttered windows. Laundry hangs from lines that transect the top half of the image, and a banner is hung between the buildings. The banner reads, “Amnestie für die pal pol gefangen! Wählt Kommunisten Liste 4,” (“Amnesty for the Polish Prisoners! Vote Communist on the 4th.”) Many people, including a young woman in a patterned dress and cloche hat, bustling along the street in the bottom half of the photograph.
