Commercially-printed book with 66 leaves. An black and white photographic image of a human eye occupies the top half of the cover. Pages 5-15 are printed in side-by-side German and English prose. Each of the remaining pages has one black and white image underneath which is a single word. All even-numbered pages have an English word, which is mirrored on each facing odd-numbered page by its German equivalent. The images include maps, plans, photographs, figural and abstract drawings, facsimiles of early modern prints, and schematic diagrams.
