Catalogue raisonné

Three women, one on horseback, fighting a lion that lunges and bites the neck of the shying horse. The mounted female figure (identified as Hyppolite, Queen of the Amazons) wields an axe and wears a fanciful plumed helmet and classical drapery. The other women, whose bodies are obscured by the horse, also wear fanciful headgear and carry shields, bows, and other weapons. The landscape in the background is craggy and lightly drawn.
