Description

This is one of a set of three round boxes with lids. Each was built with a strip of bark as the box sides, stitched to another piece for the base, with a wooden splint at the rim, tacked in four places. The lids are constructed the same way.

The medium box (2007.2163.02.a) and lid (2007.2163.02.b) have three dark vertical stripes with light chevrons and a light vertical line on each side of each stack of chevrons. There are wide light lines between each dark design. The lid has a light four petaled flower, with a dark center, and a ring of eight leaf-like (or heart shaped) designs. This box is much darker than the larger one overall.
