Side one depicts a seated male figure in profile. His right elbow is resting on an anvil, and he holds a hammer in his right hand. His left hand rests on his left knee. The background has a volcano, identified as Mt. Mayon, with a smoke cloud at the top. The text reads: ONE CENTAVO FILIPINAS.

Side two depicts a shield with a field of stars across the top, and vertical stripes on the bottom. There is an eagle with its wings spread above. The text reads: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1921.
