Six figures-a seated mother and child, two standing young men, an older man rowing, and a seated elderly woman-in a row boat floating on dark water and surrounded by what appears to be debris. Smoke or clouds float away in the background, and a bird of prey carrying a snake flies in the middle ground.
Framed by artist in narrow 1 ¾ a 3/8” frame, painted black on the sides, gold on the face, and secured with small brass tacks.
