"Constructions of Place: Architecture in Photography," Jan-1991, Erin Barnett
This photograph, which probably depicts a cast-iron lighthouse under construcrion for Careyfort Reef, Florida, was made using William Henry Fox Talbot's calotype process. The Langenheim brothers purchased the rights to this British method but failed to popularize it in the United States.
