Red oval-shaped mask is embellished by a tuft of real human hair attached at the top. Facial featuresnose, eyes, and mouth are elongated. Cut-outs for eyestheir downward slant gives the mask a sad or worried appearance. Wavy raised lines suggest jowls. Its tongue sticks out prominently from puckered lips.
This Korean paper mask or tal 탈is represents chwibari, or the “old bachelor.” In many plays this role seduces the concubine called eaesadang.
