Luccio Pozzi's long relationship with Herb
and Dorothy Vogel began when they met in
1971 at an opening held at the artist-run 55
Mercer Gallery in New York. Pozzi's work can
be disarmingly charming as well as formally
rigorous, characteristics that come across in
his own description of his approach to making
art: “Mine is an ecumenical way of dealing with art, that stresses unfathomable feeling as much as describable method and places them within a wider network of references. Any kind of object touched by an artist-be it a painting or a forest or a machined item-is not an isolated token but a catalyst of individual and collective cognition.”
