Triptych. Emperor and Empress are receiving spring felicitation in the court. The interior is decorated with bright red brocade with a chrysanthemum pattern. A group of female musicians is in the garden outside the hall.
Right panel (c.) Emperor and Empress in formal attire. Emperor wears western military uniform, seated on the throne. Empress wears Japanese style clothes, standing by the emperor. A lady in waiting is kneeling behind them.
Central panel (b.) Two ladies in waiting are presenting food of the spring felicitation.
Left panel (a.) A lady in waiting is presenting a pine branch.
