Description

This is a gold colored circular cup (2007.1273.a) on a raised foot, created from two rows of circles of gold colored wire. A handle on either side of the cup is created by a row of circles flanked with a thick wire. There are three panels on the cup itself, separated by twisted wire, each has a decoration: a circle, a backward "s" and a nail. The surface has bands of incised triangles and crosshatching.

The gold-colored lid (2007.1273.b) is a flat circle, with a band of twisted gold colored wire on the edge, topped with a scene of five human figures. The largest, central figure is seated on a chair under an umbrella. The front figure holds a sword. The figure on the left holds a flute. The figure on the right holds a shield. The figure in back holds the umbrella.
