The cowboy hat is woven from light natural colored plastic. There are two swooping decorations with light natural colored diamonds and stripes on a green or red field. The hatband is a strip of black yarn.

The brim is slightly higher on the sides.

In the valley of Oaxaca, only men wear these hats. However, in the mountains of Mixteca Alta, women also wear them.
