The trapezoid shaped mat is made from sticks arranged in parallel rows. The sticks are held in place with strings of sinew (?) through holes in each stick. There are rawhide strips wrapped with plant fiber placed at regular intervals. Each strip has a loop at the end. The narrow portion of the mat has six wide red stripes edged with thin blue stripes.
