This is a two panel folding screen with a painted image. The frame is a dark brown wood with gold-colored metal corners and nailheads on the top and bottom. The back is covered with an off-white paper and is decorated with brown diamond shaped designs, with flowers inside them, and stylized botanical elements surrounding the designs. The paper has a grid or screen overlay. The backing functions as the hinge between panels.

The front of the screen has a dark yellow cloth border with white floral design. The painted image is on light tan silk. It is a mountain scene with a river and boat and a single man with a fishing pole walking toward a house. The colors are muted shades of gray, blue-green, light green, light blue, with white details. There are three characters in the bottom left corner: two in black and one red chop (stamp).
