Mulit-part scene painted on plywood with a two-tone green frame.

There is one seated person, wearing a red, white and black skirt with a red, white and black crown near the center. The facing left half of the image is a significantly larger scale. People fill most of the field and are engaged in various activities. There are two dwellings in the upper facing right corner and three dwellings in the upper facing left corner. There is a river that runs on the facing right side, though it is not continuous. The scene is named for the activity in the top center: a pink mermaid with a large grey block on her head is pulling a child from the water.
