The cylindrical wooden drum has rawhide heads stretched over the top and bottom. There is a strip of rawhide zigzags between the heads. The wood is painted with a wide blue stripe, thin red stripes on either side, then yellow in the scallops created by the stretched rawhide. The heads appear to be rubbed with black pigment.
