The adze has a long handle and a sharply hooked end. The wooden portion is dark brown, and roughly cylindrical, bending sharply at the end to a short leg that held the metal blade. The blade flares slightly on either side, and is fixed to the handle with twisted plant fiber rope wrapping. There are two nails at the end, remnants of cloth and string, also used to hold the blade in place.
