Description

This oval-shaped basket (2007.0981.a) is made from thick coils of light brown plant fiber. At the top edge of part a there is a wide band of decoration that consists of blocks of reddish brown plant fibers alternating with blocks of dark brown vertical lines. The topmost coil is all reddish brown.

The lid (2007.0981.b) is also oval and made from coils of light brown plant fiber. The lid is very tall and coils up into a ridge with points at either end. The lower edge of the lid is decorated with the same pattern of reddish brown and brown lines. The uppermost coil at the ridge is reddish brown.
