The rectangular basket has flared sides and a braided edge. There is an old repair on the bottom and a band of holes about one inch from the top, regularly spaced. The surface is darkened.

The basket would have been filled with water with hot stones dropped in. The loaded basket would be placed in a hole in the ground and covered wtih mats or blankets until cooking was complete.
