The rectangular blanket is made from 13 narrow strips of woven cotton. Each strip has blocks of color that are offset to make an overall patchwork appearance with a red diamond in the center. It has squares in black, white, red, yellow, blue, and green. Select squares have a diamond, a checkerboard, or a long solid oval in a contrast color. The unfinished ends appear as short, white fringe.
