Description

The round basket (2007.2355.a) has a lid (2007.2355.b). The basket has a spoke-like configuration of ash splints at the bottom, which extend up the sides as warp elements. One ash splint around the rim is covered by the lid, when it is on. The bottom has four bands of narrow ash splints. The majority of the sides are woven of braided sweet grass. The lid has a bundle of sweet grass on the rim. About 2/3 of the top is woven of unbraided sweet grass fibers, and the area between the center and rim bundle is woven of braided sweet grass. There is a loop handle in the center.
