Description

The rectangular basket (2007.2107.a) is made of folded birch bark. The sides are stitched into place. The strip of wood around the opening is held in place with whipstitched plant fiber. It has a buckskin strap. The flower with vines and leaves that wrap around the box was created by scraping away the top surface of the bark.

The flat lid (2007.2107.b) has a leaf and vine design as well and has a lip to keep the lid in place.
