Description
Inscriptions/Signature

The oval birch bark container (2007.2112.a) has a flat bottom. The interior layer of bark is taller to create a lip to sit into the lid. The side of the lid (2007.2112.b) and the side of the box are decorated with clusters of three "x's" in white quills with green or pink asterisks at the crosspoint of the "x." Both define the decorated bands with a bundle of sweetgrass, wrapped with green string. The top of the lid is decorated with a flower of red quills with a yellow center and green stem and leaf.
