The small rectangular birch bark box has the side and top edged with a bundle of sweetgrass held in place with black string. The latch is a sweetgrass "V" tucked into a small loop of sweet grass. The long sides have two "X" shapes in green over red quills. The short sides have one "X" shape in green over red quills. The lid has a red tulip-like flower with a green stem and leaves and white crosshatches on either side. One red quill is in the edge bundles of three of the edges.
