The papercut depicts a Beijing Opera character identified as Yuwen Chengdu, with a yellow face, brown detail near the eyes and mouth, and a brown, red and grey swirl on the cheek, red eyebrows, and a grey diamond in the center of the forehead. There are red fin-like projections near the eyes and red beard. The headdress has a purple band with a light blue scalloped edge and light blue and light green detail. The bonnet portion is dark pink and dark blue with light blue and light green detail. There are stylized yellow pheasant feathers with green, dark pink and black details. The four hairsticks have red tassels and dark blue trailers with pink flowers and light green vines with red dots and a red trailer with irregular blue shapes. There are rows of light blue-green ovals with pink or orange flowers on either side of the beard.
