The papercut depicts a Beijing Opera character identified as Fang La, with a yellow face, black and white details around the eyes, nose and mouth, red details on the cheeks and forehead. It has a red beard and red fin-like projections by each eye. The headdress has a light blue band with a green edge and a dark blue scalloped edge, with yellow at center. It has light green behind with pink details and a pink circle. Four dark blue hairsticks have red tassels. The front two tassels have ribbon-like trailers with triangles of blue-green or light green with details in dark pink and yellow. Rows of gray ovals with purple or light green dots hang beside the beard.
