Hexagonal pattern made from multicolored chintz. Band of chintz around the edges; blue background with floral design. Hexagons of cotton and chintz from the 2nd quarter of the 19th century form the body of this quilt and two pillar print chintzes form the border. The hexagon mosaic quilts offer a great variety of sizes, designs and arrangement. Popular since the 1700s in England, they are still one of the best loved quilt designs.
