Square patches of dark colored chintz and calico. Border of dark calico in reds and black. Corners cut out for bedposts. This unusual variation of the nine-patch is pieced with fabrics characteristic of the 1830s or later, such as the seaweed prints. Several of the calicoes imitate the designs found in the more expensive chintz textiles.
