The very long wooden shaft is cylindrical but is tapered at either end. About half of it is covered with four rows of shark teeth seated between small strips of wood. The strips and teeth are held in place with plant fiber string wrapping about every centimeter. The string is made from twisted hair that is wrapped every few inches, but it is beneath the wooden strips and the shark teeth. It is dark brown.
