The drum body has a conical bottom and cylindrical top. The conical portion is covered with dark brown fur. The cylindrical portion is covered with strips of twisted hide, with dark brown fur. The ends of the drum are covered with brown cowhide as well, though the small bottom is lighter. Pieces of hide are stitched together using strips of twisted hide. Three short loop handles, end to end, are created from strips of twisted cowhide wrapped into a semicircle.

One loose object inside rattles when the drum is moved.
