Description

The small metal spearhead (2007.3976.a) has a short, shallow stem to receive a shaft.
The wooden holder for spearhead (2007.3976,b) is a rectangular wooden block with a recess for the spearhead and a smaller block over the top of the recess to hold the spearhead in place. A band of braided plant fiber is wrapped around the block to keep it in place. There are notches from the corners or larger rectangle and a metal loop at one end. There is a metal loop on one side at the plant fiber wrapping to hold decoration. The decoration is a strip of blue cloth with eight shell circles stitched in place with plant fiber that has been painted red. The same plant fiber wraps either end of the cloth.
