The unidentified animal is carved from a stick using the naturally occuring shape. The main portion of the stick forms the body and one end is carved into a head. The other end is carved into two small hind legs. A small branch near the head end is divided to make two front legs. There are dark brown plant fiber wrappings around the neck. Dark brown and light brown plant fibers are woven into a checkerboard covering most of the body.
