The long, mostly cylindrical shaft has two wooden loops near one end. The loops are small branches that have been bent and inserted into the body of the distaff. The area just under the loops is square in cross section and the edge is decorated with alternating concave and convex sufaces. That section ends with three raised ridges, and the remainder of the shaft is an undecorated cylinder. The very top of the distaff has a cross-like decoration.
