The wooden rod has a slight flare at one end. There are two slightly curved pieces of wood that are threaded on the rod as a whorl. One piece of wood is fixed on the rod (2007.3465.a). The other piece is removable (2007.3465.b).

The pieces are notched to sit at a 90 degree angle to each other. The top surface of each is decorated with blocks of geometric designs, mostly triangles arranged into squares and areas of cross hatching.
