The glass lantern slide shows three men, identified as Ojibwa, making a birch bark canoe. One man is kneeling on the facing left side. Next to him is a long, very large piece of bark between several upright pieces of timber for shaping. On the facing right side are two men who are standing behind the canoe and each is holding an ax.
