The narrow shield is oval shaped. The outside frame is made up of a bundle of thin pieces of wood. There are two long thin pieces of wood vertically down the center. The outer frame is wrapped in dark brown plant fibers. The wood down the center is wrapped in alternating light and dark brown plant fibers. The rest of the shield is made of long strips of light brown wood or plant fiber with a woven decorative strip down the center. The pattern is a strip of diamonds joined at the points. On the back is a carved wood handle joined to the shield with plant fiber.
