Description

The very shallow large circlar basket has a wooden rim to provide structure. It has a herringbone weave in two similar tones of brown. The rim is whipstitched on.

It was used for straining juice from a moriche palm fiber, which is then used to make a kind of tapioca and bread similar to manioc bread.
