The oblong shield is slightly pointed at the long ends and is made of an elephant ear. The surface has been modified by adding a large central boss with arched rows of small bumps around it. A single wooden rod down the long axis on the reverse is held in place with narrow hide strips. There is a small loop of twisted plant fiber at one end.
