The musical instrument is made from a gourd with a hole at each end. The gobular body is left uncovered and the narrow neck is wrapped with black string and light natural plant fibers that reveal a checkerboard pattern. There are two orange feathers and small white downy feathers at the joint. Long plant fiber string is attached at the narrow end.

According to the donor, there is a reed piece missing that allowed this to be played.
