The length of bone is mostly rectangular, but is tapered near one end with a flare. The other end is rounded at one corner. Overall, it is the shape of a fish or whale. The whale has a red eye with a black outline and a pupil and a carved mouth. There are two sets of three crescents in red and black and red, that decorate the body. The rest remains bone colored. The end of the handle is carved in the shape of a bird head with a fine line to indicate the beak and a small circle for the eye on either side. It is decorated on both sides.
