Description

An elaborately carved pipe in five pieces, with a very long stem. It is light brown.
Piece 2007.3521.a is a bowl with two thick disc-like portions that taper, with a loose wooden ring between. The discs are decorated with vertical lines.

Piece 2007.3521.b is a short segment. The cylinder is decorated with a wide band of burned dots and a wide band of incised cross hatching. The knob above and below is decorated with burned dots. There is a tapered cylinder at the proximal end.

Piece 2007.3521.c is the middle segment. There are two cylinders, each decorated with a wide band of burned dots with a band of incised zigzags on either side. The conical element is decorated with vertical lines, below each cylinder. The round knob is decorated with burned dots, a teardrop shape with incised cross hatching, and burned dots above each cylindrical element. There are free rings between the knob and cylinder.

Piece 2007.3521.d consists of two cylinders, each decorated with a wide band of burned dots with a band of incised zigzags on either side. The conical element is decorated with vertical lines, below each cylinder. The round knob is decorated with burned dots, a teardrop shape with incised cross hatching, and burned dots above each cylindrical element. There are free rings between the knob and cylinder.

Piece 2007.3521.e is the mouthpiece with a small tapered cone at the proximal end. There are two cylinders, each decorated with a wide band of burned dots with a band of incised zigzags on either side. The conical element is decorated with vertical lines, below each cylinder. The round knob is decorated with burned dots above the lower cylinder, a teardrop shape with incised cross hatching, and burned dots above the lower cylindrical element. There are free rings between the knob and lower cylinder.
