The blanket top is made from eider duck skins sewn together. They are rectangular, most of which is a patchwork of light brown downy feathered breast skins with a white edge, forming rows of scallops. The border skins have white, black, and light green feathered skins from the back of a male eider duck's head.

The back shows how the pelts are stitched together. The typical backing of plain brown, downy pelts is not present.
