Description

The large globular ceramic pot has a rounded bottom and flaring rim. It is mostly black but the bottom is mottled with firing clouds. The rim and top 1/4 of pot are smooth and the remainder has a rough texture. It was decorated with a band of incised lines, at the place where the surface texture changes, and with a band of short vertical lines above. The rim is decorated with a cluster of parallel lines in four evenly spaced places and bands of incised lines.

It was used when cooking assida (sorghum mush). Compare to 2007.1255.a,b
