The round drum has one rawhide head, painted with four sets of two red diamonds in a cross pattern and four single red diamonds in the spaces between. The wooden sides of the drum are painted with vertical black stripes. Most of the sides are covered with strips of rawhide stretching the head to a band of twisted deer skin (with fur) at the base of the drum. One wooden slat inside the open bottom may be a handle.
