The drill is made from wood and strips of rawhide. The cylindrical center piece tapers to a point at the end, with a wooden disc above it. There are buckskin strips through the hole at the top end. The mobile wooden crosspiece above the disc also has holes on either end with the buckskin strips knotted in place.

It is light brown with irregular dark spots.
