The raised bands of this wooden staff give the staff an overall undulating surface from bottom to top. It is covered with a very closely adherent sleeve of brown fabric with a pattern of black circles with brown dots. There are twisted plant fibers wrapped around the staff at five locations, including the top and bottom of the fabric sleeve. A tuft of plant fibers sticks up at the top. The bottom has been screwed to a square wooden base which was painted black.
