Description

The two part carved piece of bone is made of a straight and tapering piece of bone with threads on the interior of the larger, open end (2007.3251.a). This is attached to a smaller piece (2007.3251.b) with a threaded cylinder to fit into part a. There is a small metal rod, also threaded, at the narrower end.

It is decorated with spiralling lines, made of closely placed open circles, with small lines parallel to the ends of the piece. There is a band of designs around the top and bottom of part a that resembles a circle in an oval. Part b is decorated with vertical lines, made with overlapping open circles. There is a band of open circles above and below. There are incised lines at both ends of parts a and b.

The threads at either end indicate that two or more parts may be missing.
