The tall conical hat is made of knitted wool. The top, narrower portion is light brown decorated with a raised vertical line in dark red, dark blue and medium blue. There are three chevrons crossing the line: one in dark red, dark pink, and bright pink, another in dark red, dark green, and light green, and a third in light brown and orange. The bottom panel of the hat is nearly all done in raised loops of yarn, with a dark red field and a band of concentric diamonds in a variety of colors. There are also stripes above and below the diamonds in blocks of the same colors: dark red, dark green, light green, yellow, orange, dark blue, bright pink, and blue-green. There is a band of light bright brown knitted with a vertical rib, and it is edged with loops of yarn in the same colors as above. The other side of the hat has a notch removed from the ribbed portion, the band of raised decoration does not continue all the way around, instead it is the solid brown of the top portion of the hat.
