The long bamboo flute has one hole at the very far end with four fingerholes spaced along the length. It is decorated with burned geometric patterns consisting of zigzags, triangles, intersecting waves and diagonal lines. More complex patterns are created with these basic shapes and the addition of nautilus-like shapes, which are paired.
